Here we are, the second week of January, and I’m staying strong and not re-installing those time wasters back on my phone. There have been moments of weakness that I try to play the one remaining game on my phone, but sadly, the most you can play is two minutes at a time! What it has made me realize is how much I CAN get done when I limit my distractions.
After hearing the TED talk about time management, I had my own water heater moment where I found 9 hours yesterday and another 9 today getting my website revamped. I used to get frustrated when I couldn’t figure out how to build in a form or add a video or had to wait for what seemed like endless seconds until something finally uploaded. I would convince myself I can crush a little candy while this page loads, and before I knew it, I had lost an hour and all of my productivity! I am fortunate my site hadn’t exploded and wasn’t in a state of crisis, but this “found” time has shown me my priorities.
I have cooked real food, decluttered my closet, and worked out. I have spent time talking with my friends, and listening to those who inspire me. I have had my creative cup runneth over with ideas for workshops that are actually on the calendar now where others can easily sign up! I’m back on Facebook and soon to be on more social media! Which might sound like a time waster, but for me, it is a big part of my business! I am making what matters most my true priorities instead of allowing mindless time wasters to steal my time!
How about you? Do you have any resolutions that are making a huge impact on your world? Are you still hanging in there by the skin of your teeth or are you feeling the bliss as you’re living your purpose? I want to know!
If you’re stuck, give me a shout and see what magic we can work together! I’ve got a pocket full of glitter and I’m ready to sprinkle it everywhere!
